Modalities:

Swedish/American
This is a treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic massage techniques are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. A combination of long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping are used. Excellent choice for beginners.

Deep Tissue
This type of massage affects the sublayer of musculature and fascia and requires more advanced training and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation, and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis. It does generally cause some discomfort during the process and may cause soreness the following day. It is generally integrated with other massage techniques and is not used exclusively during the session. This is not recommended for massage "beginners".

Hot Stone
Heated stones of all shapes and sizes and varying temperatures, are used during this massage to bring on total relaxation. Warm stones encourage the movement of blood and lymph. Some stones will be placed in varying positions on the body and stones will be used to massage as well. Extremely relaxing! It will get rid of that bone-deep cold that no one can seem to get rid of during Wisconsin winters.

Pregnancy/Prenatal
Special propping techniques, a massage table (with a removeable belly insert) or special pillows (our Cozy Cuddler) are used to allow the pregnant mother to comfortably lay on the table, and a relaxing massage is given to ease discomforts. Expectant mothers can choose a relaxation or deep tissue, or a mixture of both.

Chair Massage (not available in the office)
Also called on-site and seated massage, chair massage includes techniques that provide fully-clothed seated massage. Individual session times range from 5-20 minutes and typically cost $2 per minute. The increased cost versus traditional massage in an office setting covers travel and set-up time. Chair massages can be done at health fairs, wedding receptions, and corporate barbeques, just to mention a few scenarios. It can also be a great idea to reward your employees on a Friday afternoon, or give them a pick-me-up in the middle of the week. Send us an email, and we will farm it out to all the therapists we know.

Why Us?

Compare Apples to Apples:
Our 60-minute massages are actually 60 minutes long, with 30 minutes in between appointments. Traditional spas only allow 50 minutes of massage, 5 minutes to get on the table and 5 minutes to get out. There's no rushing around at our shop! When comparing prices, always compare the cost per minute, not the total cost. Divide the total cost of the massage by the number of minutes to find this number.

Longevity:
Bodyology has been in business since 2006. We have a reputation for honesty, integrity, and being in business for more than 10 years.

Cleanliness:
Our shop does not smell like rancid oil. Our floors and bathroom are clean. Our sheets are washed daily, blankets and table pads are washed once a week.

Gift Certificates:
Our gift certificates are valid for a year from purchase. Many small shops or individual massage therapists have a 90-day or 6-month expiration date. We sell these gift certificates online, for your convenience.

Staffing / Booking:
We have multiple massage therapists on staff, with online booking so that you don't have to play phone tag or wait weeks or months to get in for your massage.
